Second Day Home
It's been hard getting used to this new transition.
I have moved into my first place with my love and I should be brimming with joy. But yet, I am not. I have this deep nagging feeling something isn't right. Time will tell. For now I live on and keep moving forward.
I absolutely love cooking. Especially for Robert. I love stuffing him with satisfaction. So thats what I wanted to do today. Cook. I even figured out what I would cook the night before.
I read about a grain called Quinoa "Keen-Wah". Very high in protein. I discovered this through thefitcook.com. I bought some at Tops this evening with money dad sent me via moneygram (he sent me 50 thru western union, only to come to find out there isn't a western union station in this city). I also bought chicken in-bone and lemon & herb marinade and garlic roasted honey bbq. OH! & white corn! I love white corn. mmm.

Once the mixture was blended well I lowered the heat to LOW. I cooked the butter for about 45 minutes to an hour. Never forgetting to stir frequently.
Don't burn the butter!
If you are using a non-stick pan please use a plastic or wooden spoon.

~5~ Strain matter through a silk screen/cheese cloth/panty hose
into a container
(I was a little messy 8], I had to have my sunshine
strain it for me, it was VERY HOT.

~6~The final product after a sit in the fridge for
a couple hours.
note: There should be nasty green water collected
at the bottom, discard this, this is no good.
The goods will solidify. :)

This is Quinoa, I'm going to take a second to mention this grain. {keen-wah} is an ancient grain that has been cultivated in the Andes Mountains of South America for more than 5000 years. Locally referreed to as the "mother grain" and as a "protein powerhouse," it kept the Incan armies strong and robust.
Light & fluffy when cooked
Gluten free, whole grain
Considered one of the best sources of protein and amino acids by the United Nations.
